October brings a full lineup of seasonal events to Round Rock, offering family-friendly fun and fall festivities for all ages. Be sure to check out these upcoming events:
Hometown Halloween
Oct. 31 from 3-7 p.m.
Downtown Round Rock
There’s Halloween and then there’s Hometown Halloween. This annual event allows for safe trick-or-treating but also includes a free concert, face painting and more. Stop by Downtown with the kiddos on Halloween.
Fall Fun Festival
Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Old Settlers Park Hall of Fame Complex, 3449 Aten Loop
Now, you could wait until Halloween to get the party started, or you could just stop by Fall Fun Festival on Oct. 29. Geared toward toddlers and preschool-aged children, this outdoor event hosted by Round Rock Parks and Recreation will include carnival games, a petting zoo, snacks and more.
Fall Fun Festival includes a canned food drive for the Round Rock Area Serving Center. Festivities begin at 9 a.m. at the Hall of Fame Complex at Old Settlers Park.
Spookout Soccer Tournament
Oct. 24-26, various hours
Round Rock Multipurpose Complex, 2001 N. Kenney Fort Blvd.
Fans of old monster movies (and “Twilight” movies) got to eat popcorn while watching vampires take on werewolves, and from Oct. 24-26, you can too at the Spookout Soccer Tournament at Round Rock Multipurpose Complex.
Soccer fans ages 7-14 will be terrorizing the pitch, digging their cleats in for a howling good time. Details on fees and play format are available online on the City of Round Rock website.
Spooky team names and Halloween-inspired jerseys are encouraged, with awards to be presented for best costumes. By the way: the World Cup Werewolves, Twilight Howlers and Bloody Business are teams already registered. Sweet…
Round Rock Ballet Folklorico Day of the Dead celebration
Nov. 1 from noon to 9 p.m.
Centennial Plaza, 301 W. Bagdad Ave.
The celebration of those who have passed is typically quite lively, with ballet folklorico performances, live music, food, crafts, a parade and more on tap. Admission is free and open to the public.
Public Safety Trunk or Treat (Canceled)
Oct. 25 from 5-8 p.m.
Round Rock Public Safety Training Center, 2801 N. Mays St.
Round Rock’s Blue Santa program invites families to enjoy an evening of trick-or-treating, decorated trunks, and community fun. The annual event supports Blue Santa’s mission of bringing holiday cheer to local families in need.
Family Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest
Oct. 24-30 (submissions must be in by 1 p.m. Oct. 30)
Round Rock Public Library, 200 E. Liberty Ave.
Stop by the library with your pumpkins, artificial pumpkins or gourds decorated as book characters or with a literary theme and win Barnes & Noble gift cards. Please note: No carved submissions will be accepted.
Adaptive and Inclusive Trunk or Treat
Oct. 18 from 4-6 p.m.

Stop by this trunk-or-treat event designed for children with disabilities or limitations Oct. 18 at Ascension Seton Williamson.
