UPDATE (4/16 at 11:25 a.m.): Power has been restored to all City facilities.
ORIGINAL POST: Due to a power outage caused by a traffic accident on County Road 172, several City facilities in Downtown Round Rock are currently without electricity. The Round Rock Public Library and the Griffith Building (City Arts Center, Visitors Bureau and Round Rock Chamber) remain fully operational at this time.
While the following facilities remain open to the public at this time, several services may be impacted by power outages.
- Baca Center
- McConico Building (Planning and Development Services, Parks and Recreation Department, Municipal Court)
- City Hall (including Utility Billing)
Until power is restored, utility bills can be paid online (one-time or auto-pay), by phone (1-855-894-2392), or via the 24-hour drop box at 221 E. Main St. Customers visiting in-person will be limited to payment by check/cash or in-lobby kiosks.
Multiple power outages have been reported near the area. Residents can report outages and find the latest updates through Oncor by calling 888-313-4747, texting OUT to 66267 or via stormcenter.oncor.com. If you encounter an intersection without power, treat it as a four-way stop, and then proceed with caution.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:27 a.m. near County Road 172 and Martin Avenue, and involved a truck striking a power line. No injuries have been reported due to the accident, and crews are on scene working to restore power.
