Update: Round Rock Refuse suspends pickup schedule for rest of week

Feb. 18 update: Round Rock Refuse, the City’s residential trash and recycling service provider, will suspend pickup operations for the rest of the week due to landfill closure and expected continued icy roadway conditions.

Regular pickup will resume on Monday, Feb. 22, with trash-only service.

Trash service on these days includes the regular “plus 7” item pickup: You can place 7 additional bags or bundles curbside with your bin. Customers who intend to use their regular pickup service to discard tree limbs must bundle the limbs so the bundles are no more than 4 feet in length and weigh 40 pounds or less. The bundle cannot include tree limbs greater than 4 inches in diameter.

Round Rock Refuse will resume its normal recycle pickup schedule beginning March 1.

For customers who want to dispose of recyclables, the City of Round Rock Recycling Center, 310 Deepwood Drive, will be open regular hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., beginning Saturday, Feb. 20. Brush recycling will be available at the same location during the same hours on Saturday for City of Round Rock customers who want to dispose of larger tree limbs.

Trash and recycle service has been suspended since Monday, Feb. 15, because of icy road conditions.

On Wednesday, the City announced trash-only pickup would begin on Friday, Feb. 19. Plans changed because of the reasons cited above.
