Project Update: January 2026
The contractor continues to make strong progress on this project. Traffic is currently utilizing the existing southbound lanes while construction is focused on the new northbound lanes.
Current construction activities include completion of the storm sewer system, excavation and blading for roadway preparation, construction of a 5-foot sidewalk, and placement of a 2-inch asphalt layer topped with 9 inches of concrete pavement. Temporary striping and signage will also be installed. All work associated with the northbound roadway section is anticipated to be completed by Summer 2026.
At that time, all traffic will be shifted to the newly completed northbound lanes to allow construction of the southbound section to begin. Work will include storm sewer system installation, excavation and grading for the roadway surface, construction of a 10-foot shared-use path, placement of a 2-inch asphalt layer, and installation of 9 inches of concrete pavement.
Final project activities will consist of installing permanent signage, pavement markings, illumination poles, and traffic signals at CR 117/122, Old Settler’s Boulevard, Mickey Mantle Drive/Pioneer Crossing, and US 79.
Project completion is scheduled for Spring 2027.
