Red Bud Lane North- US 79 to CR 117

This project will upgrade an existing two-lane roadway to a new four-lane divided including: intersection, curb and gutter, and pedestrian improvements.

Project was let for construction September 10, 2024. Construction kicked off in March 2025.

Community Involvement

The city held public meetings in January and July 2020 to share project details and hear feedback from the community. The materials shared at the public meeting and the meeting reports including responses to public comments are available below.

Project Update: August 2026

Work is progressing well.  Traffic will be switched on August 17th.  Traffic will be driving on the new concrete pavement on the east side of the roadway so the west side of the roadway may now be constructed.   Construction is anticipated to be complete in Spring 2027.

Project Update: May 2026

The Contractor is making excellent progress on the northbound concrete pavement lanes of the new roadway. Traffic is anticipated to be shifted onto these new lanes in late summer to allow construction of the southbound lanes to begin.

While recent weather conditions have had a minor impact on the schedule, the Contractor continues to work diligently to recover lost time and maintain project momentum. Final completion of the project remains scheduled for Spring 2027.
