Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park is the City’s crown jewel of the park system and is a well-known sports destination in the youth and amateur sports leagues.  The park’s 640 acres provides ample space for several recreational pursuits such as disc golf, cricket, 20-field baseball complex, 5-field softball complex, soccer facilities, and more.  Old Settlers Park is also a place to congregate outside, barbeque and have a game of horseshoes at one of the two pavilions.

Sports Capital of Texas Tournaments

The Sports Capital of Texas tourism campaign is an important component of the City’s overall economic development program.  One weekend per month is reserved for official Sports Capital of Texas tournaments that have been bid on and recruited by our Convention and Visitors Bureau. These tournaments range from baseball and softball tournaments hosting over 100 teams, to soccer, cricket, and cross country meets.  These tournaments and events draw teams from out of town and provide a significant economic benefit to the Round Rock community.

Special Events

The park is also home to many Special Events, sporting and recreational, throughout the year.  See below for some annual events held in the park. *Please contact the Parks and Recreation Main Office at 512-218-5540 to schedule your special event.

Cricket

A maintained regulation cricket field with practice batting cages.

Disc Golf

An 18-hole professionally designed course. Open play seven days a week.

Fishing

Bright Lake is stocked as needed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Fish Hatchery program.  The most common species are Bass, Catfish, and Perch.  There is one fishing pier.

Festival Area

A designated area of the park used for special events and programs.  It is approximately 3 acres, with shade trees and water and electric hook-ups.  It is near the Lakeview Pavilion and the pavilion restrooms.

Football

Two maintained lighted game fields.  Contact the Round Rock Youth Football Association for more youth football information. 

Picnic areas

There are currently more than 40 picnic areas with barbeque grills located throughout the park.  Picnic areas are first come first serve unless located under the rental pavilions.

Playgrounds

There are currently 7 playgrounds located within the park.  A playground is located at each baseball complex and the softball complex.  There are two playgrounds located outside of the sport complexes next to the both the Lakeview and Virg Rabb pavilions.

Remote control airplanes

A regulation remote control airplane take-off and landing strip with covered bleacher seating is located behind the East soccer parking lot.  Contact the Lonestar Aeronuts for more information.

Soccer

There are 7 soccer fields with restroom/concession facilities available for use.  Contact the Parks and Recreation main office at 512-218-5540 for scheduling and for youth and adult soccer club information.

Tennis

The tennis complex has 12 lighted courts and restroom/concession facilities.  Please contact the Parks and Recreation main office at 512-218-5540 for scheduling. Contact the Round Rock Tennis Association for group information.

Trails

There are approximately 3.3 miles of paved trail in Old Settlers Park.  The trail connects the Dell Diamond, through the soccer complex, past the Rabb Pavilion and Lakeview Pavilion and playground, across the lake to the disc golf parking area.  | Parks Inventory Map (PDF)

Volleyball

Two sand volleyball courts are located near Bright Lake and the Memorial Tree Groves.
