Daddy Daughter Dance MASKerade Ball 2021

You are cordially invited to our magical night to celebrate the Annual Daddy Daughter Dance MASKerade Ball 2021.  Dads can enjoy a special evening with their daughters dancing the night away, snacking on hors d’evoures, professional photography opportunities, dance competition and strutting their steps in our Second Line parade.

All the fun takes place Friday, February 19 at 6:00pm at the NEW Kalahari Resort Kilimanjaro Ballroom.

Life is a MASKarade so let’s have a Ball! Find a mask and wear it well!  The large ballroom provides ample space for social distancing. This year features one dance for all ages.

Teen Paintball Adventure Trip

Register your TEEN NOW for the upcoming Texas Paintball Adventure trip taking place Tues. Feb 16 from 9am to 3:30pm for ages 11-15 years. Texas Paintball is home to ten of the most unique and exciting playing fields located on 40 acres of wooden terrain and we will get to explore them all. BIG & GLOWING holiday cheer coming to Round Rock for 2 amazing nights in December! Join us for Light Up the Lake, a FREE NEW 2-day holiday festival around the lake and festival area at Old Settlers Park Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 5 starting at 6:30pm.

The event will feature SPECTACULAR holiday cold and hot air balloons hovering over Bright Lake, amazing light show, LIVE music, holiday displays, holiday food and refreshments, yule log and more! Old Settlers Park offers ample event space featuring 24 acres and a mile-long trail around bright lake, perfect for social distancing.

To ensure social distancing, a limited amount of FREE tickets will be issued for each night.  For general admission to the Light up the Lake event, please reserve tickets per vehicle. Select the number of people in your vehicle to complete your registration. This ticket is only for general admission and does not include a reserved concert pod.

Live music entertainment includes the Chad Cooke Band on Friday night and the SPAZMATICS on Saturday night. Socially distant seating will be provided and reservations will need to be made prior to the events.  In order to reserve a concert pod for your group/family you must contact the Main Parks and Recreation Office. You may visit the Main Office in person, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm or call 512-218-5540. Once concert pods are reserved, you must pick up your wristbands within the established times. Concert pods are limited. For those who do not utilize a reserved concert pod, general viewing areas will be provided.

More about the Chad Cooke Band:
Four modern-day country crooners from Houston are paving their way in the Texas country music scene. In and out of honky-tonks from Oklahoma City to San Antone, the Chad Cooke Band delivers 3 & 4 part harmonies with a country rock-n-roll edge. 

Since the release of their debut album, Easy Way Home, in December of 2016, the Chad Cooke Band has produced 6 Top 50 singles on Texas Radio – beginning with “Oil Man”, “Easy Way Home” and “Come and Take It”. “Oil Man” continues to be a fan favorite with a music video that has amassed over 6 million views!

From the creators of the Fabulous Boogie Knights comes the Spazmatics. All the awesome sounds, styles, and way cool dance steps from the 1980’s decade we’d love to forget. Complete with skinny ties, Brill Creamed hair, and horn-rimmed glasses, The Spazmatics recapture all the best of the worst. Outstanding musicianship combined with creative flair and style makes for an evening of pure energy and entertainment. So tonight we’re gonna party like it’s 1999; only it’s not! The Spazmatics.

COVID Safety Protocols: 
This event will practice extra sanitization throughout the festival. Our activities will be spread throughout the park, pavilion and festival area to provide extra space around all activities. Social distancing will be practiced, so please be aware of the space between yourself and other guests!  Face covering are recommended.

Trunk or Treat for Special Needs Kids

Join Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department for the 7th annual FREE Trunk or Treat, which will be a drive-through event for the safety of all participants.
 
Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 3:30 to 5:30pm at the Rabb House located at 151 N. A.W. Grimes. This is a rain or shine event.

This is a family-centered event focusing on active participation for children with various disabilities or limitations. Siblings are welcome to participate.

Trunk or Treat is a new spin on Trick or Treating where local businesses and organizations bring a vehicle, decorate its trunk/tailgate and pass out candy as kids “Trunk or Treat” from car to car.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED – Download the  (Trunk or Treat Registration Form)
Participation is free! We are asking local businesses, clubs/organizations and families to provide a vehicle trunk/tailgate decorated in a family-friendly Halloween/Fall theme. Pass out candy/prizes at your trunk and provide enough candy/trinkets/prizes for 400+ trick or treaters. You are welcome, but not required, to promote your business at this event by use of a company vehicle for your “Trunk,” as well as hand out goodies promoting your business.
