Code of Ordinances

The City of Round Rock contracts with Municipal Code Corporation, or Municode to maintain its code of ordinances.

The Code of Ordinances is updated on a monthly basis.  In addition, all new ordinances are posted in PDF format on our Municode site the week after a City Council meeting and remain there until the Code is updated.

Questions about the legal aspects of the code may be made to Stephan L. Sheets, City Attorney. Other questions regarding the code or ordinances may be directed to Meagan Spinks, City Clerk, at mspinks@roundrocktexas.gov.

City Charter

Round Rock operates as a home-rule city with a council-manager form of government. The Texas home-rule law allows any city with a population of more than 5,000 to write its own constitutions, known as city charters. To become effective, the city charter must be approved by a majority vote of the citizens.
