The first step towards using the Round Rock Permit Portal is creating a Permit Portal account. To create an account, click on Create Account on the sign-in page, enter the email address you wish to use and click Submit. This will send your email account an account creation link.
Tip: If you do not receive the email immediately, wait four hours before submitting another request. If you submit a request more than once, open the most recent email’s link.
Once you receive the email, open its link and fill out the required fields. It will ask for your desired password, name, and contact information.
Click Submit.
If you forget your password or need to reset it, click Forgot Password on the sign-in page.
Fill out your email and click Request Reset. If your email address is tied to an account, you will receive an email with a link to reset your password.
Once you do, open the link, fill out your new password, and click Reset Password. You can log in with your new password.
Once you do, open the link, fill out your new password, and click Reset Password. You can log in with your new password.
Tip: See the Troubleshooting section below if you do not find the City of Round Rock’s email in your inbox.
Follow these steps to submit a permit application.
1. Create a New Application
Sign in and click the blue Create New Application button in the top right of your home page. The first thing you will choose is the appropriate permit. If you want to create a sub-permit, please call the appropriate department to confirm if one is needed. Otherwise, choose New Application. We recommend using a project name.
Once you choose the right application and project name, click the Next button on the bottom right of the page.
2. Location
The Location page allows you to select the location for the permit. Locate the project address for the permit using the map or search bar, and select it. If an address or parcel gets listed that you don’t want to use, select it and use the Remove Address/Remove Parcel button. Click Next.
Tip: If you cannot find the project address in the search bar or map, use the I cannot find my location using the map tool. Type in the address.
3. People
Now you can fill out the information for the people tied to the permit. Fill out the required information for yourself as the applicant and other required or relevant roles. Click Next.
Tip: You can use the Add My Info button to use the information tied to your account.
4. Contractors
This will open the Contractors page. If you will not use a contractor, skip this section. Otherwise, search for your contractor and click the grey Add button below the list to add them to your application. Click Next when you finish.
Tip: If your contractor is not listed, submit a contractor registration application. You can find this under Contractor Registration on the Create New Application page. This is currently available for Building Inspections and Transportation contractors.
5. Application Details
The Application Details page opens. This is where you fill out any specific details required by your application type. Hit Next once you complete this page.
6. Upload Files
The Upload Files page allows you to add any important documents, such as plans. Drag your files onto the upload box or click Browse to search for the file on your computer. Hit Next once the files have finished uploading.
7. Terms & Conditions
The Terms & Conditions page is the last step in submitting your application. Agreeing with the T&C is required to receive a city permit. If you agree, click the radio button next to “I agree to the terms and conditions.” and Submit.
Congratulations! You have submitted your application, and will hear from a CORR employee shortly.
Once the submission is completed, you will be given a permit reference number, the option to review your application, and an option to apply for a new permit.
To view your active application(s), make sure you are on the Permit Portal home page. Click on the My Applications tab at the top of the screen. This will display a table listing all your applications.
Click on the magnifying glass in the rightmost column of this table to view the application’s status and details. This will open a page that shows all the application’s details (e.g., the permit/license number, its status and progress, relevant dates, associated addresses, contact information, and contractors.) This page also lets you communicate with the employee(s) handling your application in the Comments section, as well as add notes and attachments.
To make a payment, navigate to the My Fees tab at the top of your homepage. This will show a table of all your permits that have due fees. Click the credit card icon in the rightmost Actions column for the permit you wish to pay for, or the Pay All Fees button to pay all your fees.
In the pop-up that appears, select your payment type. Click Next.
Fill out your payment information and click the Pay button. Once the Thank You message appears, you can review your payment details or close the pop-up.
Tip: Payments above $50,000 are currently not accepted on the portal. Contact the appropriate portal contact for help with larger payments.
To request an inspection, click the calendar icon in the rightmost column of the permit you wish to schedule the inspection for. This will open a pop-up where you will select your inspection type.
Click Next to select your inspection date. You can also type in any comments you wish to add.
Click Submit once you finish. When the Inspection Successfully Requested message appears, you can close the pop-up.
To see what inspections you have open, go to your homepage. At the top of the page there will be three tabs; click on My Inspections. This page divides inspections by two sub-tabs: Available and Scheduled. Each shows you a table of any permit applications that have available or scheduled inspection requests.
Search for permits here:
Once you pass the captcha test you will see the Search Dashboard. Click the magnifying glass icon on the center of the screen or the Search tab on the left side of the page to start searching.
Decide what permits you want to search for; a permit number, specific type(s) of permits, people involved, location, or the permits a specific contractor(s) worked on, and the time period you want to search within. Click Search.
Renew the filter and time period on the type of the search results page to make a new search, or click the “Search…” field on the left column to search with another filter.
You can download the results as a CSV file with the CSV button above your results.

Can't Find the 'Create Your Account' or 'Forgot Your Password' Email?
Follow these troubleshooting steps if you don’t see the Account Creation or Forgot Password e-mail in your inbox, or if the link you receive opens to an error page.
Your Email is in the Spam/Junk Folder, or Previously Opened
Check the Spam/Junk folder and all other folders for this email. Search the phrases “Round Rock,” “Portal Account”, or “Reset Password” to in your inbox’s search bar.
The Email Hasn’t Reached Your Inbox Yet
We are aware of an email delay of 1 to 4 hours that occasionally happens, particularly with Gmail accounts. Only submit one request, and wait for it to come in; the link will expire after 60 hours. If you’ve already tried multiple times, the most recent link you receive will be the only active one.
Your Browser is Blocking the Email
Restart the process on a different browser. Sometimes browsers will block emails; if this is your case, switching will resolve the issue.
You Created an Account Before
Is it possible you’ve already created an account? If so, reach out to the appropriate contact (see the Department Contacts section below) and ask them to check if another account exists with the email you’re using. If you have an account, they will prompt you to update the emails for the existing account and new account or log in with your existing account. You can reset your password once you confirm your account’s email.
Your Organization is Blocking CORR Emails
Your IT department might be blocking emails from @roundrocktexas.gov or CORR emails with links in them. Bring this to your IT department and make sure they whitelist @roundrocktexas.gov. If you did receive an email, but the link opens to a 404 error, still bring this to your IT department and make sure they whitelist @roundrocktexas.gov.
To verify whether your IT department is blocking the email, create a new Permit Portal account with a personal email. If the email reaches your personal account, your IT department is blocking CORR emails. Have a second employee from your organization test the process. If the CORR email doesn’t reach their work email, your IT department is blocking CORR emails. If they got the email, try a different browser. Contact the Permit Portal contact for your application’s department to help you delete the duplicate accounts.
If these options do not work, contact the appropriate department. Find their phone number or email under Department Contacts.
Troubleshooting Reminders
- Mark emails that come from @roundrocktexas.gov as safe.
- Make sure your organization’s IT Department whitelists CORR (@roundrocktexas.gov).
- Don’t submit multiple account requests within a 60-hour period. Links will expire after 60 hours. Only submit one request and wait for the link to appear instead of submitting multiple requests. It might take a few hours for your inbox to receive the email.
