The Community Affairs Unit strengthens relationships between law enforcement and the community by collaborating with local organizations and residents. Through outreach programs, educational initiatives, and partnerships, the unit addresses community concerns, promotes public safety, and fosters trust and engagement.
The Office of the Chief is responsible for the leadership, management, and coordination of the department’s operations and programs. This includes overseeing budgeting, special projects, and staff support to ensure the efficient delivery of police services. The Chief of Police ensures compliance with legal requirements, the achievement of organizational objectives, and the maintenance of CALEA accreditation to uphold the highest standards in law enforcement.
The Criminal Investigations Division is committed to thoroughly investigating crimes and achieving timely resolutions for the residents and businesses of Round Rock. The division also oversees the Victim Services Unit, Crime Scene Unit, and Evidence Unit.
The Patrol Division is responsible for maintaining public safety and providing a visible presence throughout the community. Officers respond to calls for service, enforce traffic laws, and conduct routine patrols. They also work closely with community members to address concerns, build positive relationships, and ensure a safe environment for all who live, work, and visit Round Rock.
The Special Operations Division oversees specialized units including the Motorcycle Unit, DWI Unit, Special Assignments Unit, and Animal Control Unit. These teams focus on targeted initiatives aimed at further enhancing public safety.
The Training Division manages the professional development of law enforcement personnel, offering advanced training in tactics, leadership, and ethics, while ensuring officers uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
The Support Services Division oversees public safety communications, including dispatch for police, fire, and animal control, as well as the management of the Records and Logistics Units.
