Back to School Celebration
The Back to School Celebration is an end-of-summer event serving and supported by the Round Rock community. This event provides school supplies, vision and hearing screening, sports physicals, food, games, and other attractions – all completely free of cost. This event is offered through a partnership between the Round Rock Police Department, the Round Rock Police Foundation, Round Rock Express, Round Rock ISD, and Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation.
Coffee with a Cop
Held periodically throughout the year at various cafes and coffee shops, this informal event provides an opportunity for residents to meet and converse with local law enforcement in a casual, low-key environment. Check out our Facebook page to see if we’ve got one coming up.
The RRPD Kids ID program provides children’s identification kits at no charge to the community. One of the most important tools for officers to use when searching for a missing child is readily-available and up-to-date identifying information, such as a high-quality photo and fingerprints. RRPD uses Child ID Kits to provide parents with photos, fingerprint cards and other information in a packet that they can give to first responders if their child is ever missing or involved in an emergency. Round Rock Police volunteers run the program throughout the year at schools, churches and various public events.
Time is of the essence when a child goes missing. It is critical that law enforcement is immediately provided a current description and photo of the child. By enabling quick dissemination of the child’s information, the KIDs ID program is an effective law enforcement tool to help Police find and bring your child home. The KIDs ID process captures vital information such as child appearance details, parent/guardian contact information, a color picture of the child and captures fingerprints using a digital scanner. All this information is printed onto a larger card that should be stored in a safe yet easy to access location. Check out our Facebook page to see if we’ve got a Kids ID event coming up.
Fill the Cop Car / Hike for Hunger
The Round Rock Police Department collaborates with the U.S. Army to sponsor the annual Hike for Hunger Food Drive benefiting the Round Rock Area Serving Center. Participants hike 2 miles from the U.S. Army Round Rock Recruiting Center to the Round Rock Area Serving Center carrying rucksacks filled with food. The public is encouraged to join the hike alongside the men and women of the Police Department and U.S. Army.
The Round Rock Serving Center serves low-income people and families in crisis situations through a food distribution program. Donations of nonperishable food items are collected during a Fill the Cop Car event at multiple grocery stores throughout the City.
National Night Out

This annual campaign enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while offering opportunities for positive community member interactions . Neighborhoods across the nation host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, and exhibits.
