What is the Crisis Response Unit (CRU)?

Created in 2022, the City’s Crisis Response Unit (CRU) assists families and individuals in Round Rock who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

The CRU is part of the Round Rock Fire Department’s Community Risk Reduction division and works alongside law enforcement and other partner agencies to respond to calls, arrange care and improve the quality of life for the community.

Free Narcan Kits

Anyone can purchase Naloxone/Narcan directly from a pharmacy, and free kits are distributed by multiple non-profits in our area. The Crisis Response Unit has access to a limited number of these kits for distribution within the community. If you are a Round Rock resident and believe that you or someone in your life is susceptible to opioid overdose, you can call the Crisis Response Unit at 512-218-5516 to inquire about receiving a free kit.
