Family Friendly Spaces

The Round Rock Public Library offers a variety of spaces and events designed to support parents/caregivers, children, and learning at every stage.

Family Play Area

Located on the second floor, the Family Play Area is a dedicated indoor space featuring interactive toys for preschoolers and their caregivers. This space encourages early literacy, creativity, and hands-on learning. Parenting books and a parent community resource board are also available for easy access.

Family Play Area Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday – Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Discovery Garden

The Discovery Garden is an outdoor space on the second floor designed for family exploration and play. Families can enjoy solving the outdoor maze or participating in seasonal programs and special events held in the garden.

Discovery Garden Hours (weather permitting):

  • Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m. – Dusk
  • Friday – Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Youth Services Program Space

This second-floor space hosts free educational and enrichment programs for children, teens, and families. Offerings include parent/child workshops, storytimes, after-school activities, teen events, and more.

Family Restrooms and Comfort Room

Family restrooms are available on both the second and third floors. A dedicated Comfort Room is located on the second floor, offering a quiet, safe space for nursing mothers or children who may need a calm environment due to sensory sensitivities.

  • Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday – Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
