What We Do
The Friends of the Round Rock Public Library provide funding and manpower to enhance Round Rock Public Library services to library users. We build library support among community members through events such as the Summer Reading Program, a monthly November membership program, and the Mystery Night community fundraiser usually held in the Spring. We also raise funds through an ongoing used book sale.
Who We Are
The Friends of the Library began in March 1980 and became a non-profit 501(c)(3) in 1996 supporting the city-funded library, but is not part of the city government. We have an independent board of directors, with the library director serving as an ex officio member. In addition to funding from book sales and memberships, the Friends of the Library also administers a library-specific fund financially managed by the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation.
Visit The Friends of the Round Rock Public Library book store located on the 2nd floor. The “Book Nook” is open during library hours.
Friends of the Round Rock Public Library Memberships
Support the Friends of the Round Rock Public Library while publicizing your business. We welcome local businesses to join the Friends of the Round Rock Public Library as a Business Member for $50 per year.
Friends of the Round Rock Public Library is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer-driven organization run by volunteers and supported by local individuals, families, and businesses. The Friends encourage the community to support Business Members.
Funding for the Round Rock Public Library comes from several sources, primarily City of Round Rock. Friends of RRPL generously contribute much-needed funds for library resources that would otherwise not be available. Your membership in Friends furthers the appreciation of books, literacy and education in the community, supports adult and children’s programs, sponsors programs of community engagement, provides the BookPage (a free monthly reader’s guide), and operates the Friends bookstore, from which proceeds are returned to the Library. Members of the Friends also serve as advocates for the Round Rock Public Library.
For $50 annual membership, you and your business will gain:
- Highly visible support in your community as a library champion
- Recognition as a Friends Business Partner in our monthly newsletter, sent by email to more than 100 local members
- Your company’s name listed here on the website
- Your company’s name displayed on an “Honor Roll” within the Book Nook
- Local exposure for your business
The Friends of the Round Rock Public Library is searching for sponsors for the annual production of Mystery Night Dinner Theater.
Friends provide funding and manpower to enhance library services and build library support among community members. The annual fundraising dinner and theatrical “Who Done It?” show is always a highly anticipated event each spring.
We appreciate the kind and generous support of the Round Rock community for more than 30 years!
